Perry Waite began his career in his early
teenage years working alongside his cousin,
Matt Waite, on a dirt modified. By the time
he got his license, Perry had built his own 4-
cylinder dirt machine to run at Albany-Saratoga and Devil’s Bowl Speedways.

Perry returned to the mechanical side of racing when his cousin purchased a Pro Stock to run at the local asphalt track – Claremont Speedway. Perry came on as crew chief, and although the team never ran a full season, they were able to enjoy the accolades in victory lane on nearly half a dozen times.

In 1999, Waite moved on to the highly-competitive Busch North Series, Grand National Division where he volunteered to build shocks and work on chassis-set-up for CJ Richard’s entry driven by Mike Bruno. The team won Rookie-of-the-Year honors with six top-10 finishes.

Matt Kobyluck, who also ran for Rookie-of-the-Year in the 1999 season, decided to rework his program for the 2000 season and immediately considered Perry for the position of crew chief. The two hit it off and Perry moved his family to Connecticut to kick off the 2000 season. Under Waite’s direction, Kobyluck was able to post his first top-10 finish that year. Since then, the team has won 16 races, posted 55 top-five, and 83 top-10 finishes. His success continued in the 2008 season when the Mohegan Sun sponsored team won the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Series East Championship. An exclamation point was put on his season when, during the 2008 Awards Banquet, the entire crew was honored as the Sportsman of the Year.

In his off time, Perry enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, snowmobiling, going to the racetrack, and flying.

It is a symbol and memory that I’m very proud of, and it couldn't have been achieved without the dedication that our crew has.
